Basketball Recap: Keira Breese's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lincolnview over Allen East

After flying high against St. John's last Tuesday, Lincolnview came back down to earth. The Lincolnview Lancers took a 49-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Allen East Mustangs on Thursday. The Lancers have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Lincolnview's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Keira Breese, who posted 16 points and seven boards. That was a full 41% of Lincolnview's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ashlyn Price, who had nine points and five rebounds.

It was another big night for Rilynn Jones, who went 8 of 14 on her way to 28 points in addition to five boards and five steals for Allen East. That makes it three consecutive games in which Jones has scored at least a third of Allen East's points. Rylie Jordan was another key player, putting up four points and seven rebounds.

Lincolnview's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Allen East, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-4.

Lincolnview will face off against Fort Jennings at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Allen East, they will take on Spencerville at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
