Volleyball Recap: Derek Castro's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Skyline over Red Mountain

Skyline was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 31st straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Red Mountain Mountain Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mountain Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on April 1st.

Skyline's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Derek Castro, who had 26 digs. Castro has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more digs the last four times he's played.

Skyline's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Red Mountain, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-7.

Skyline didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Desert Ridge on the 24th. As for Red Mountain, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against ALA - Gilbert North on the 18th.
