Basketball Recap: Haverford Takes a Loss

After flying high against Bayard Rustin on Saturday, Haverford came back down to earth. The Fords were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 67-66 to the Garnet Valley Jaguars. The Fords have struggled against the Jaguars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Grayson Golek produced another solid effort going 8-for-15 on his way to 23 points and seven rebounds for Garnet Valley. Golek's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Luke Faccenda, who posted 15 points.

Haverford's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Garnet Valley, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

Haverford didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-48 loss against Lower Merion on the 18th. As for Garnet Valley, they have also already played their next contest, a 52-49 victory against Conestoga on the 18th.
