Softball Game Preview: Rockcastle County Rockets vs. Wayne County Cardinals

The Rockcastle County Rockets will challenge the Wayne County Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Rockcastle County is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Southwestern on Thursday. They came up short against the Warriors, falling 11-1. The Rockets have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Rockcastle County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sadie Osborne, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Kelsey Maupin also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wayne County). Their pitchers stepped up to hand McCreary Central an 18-0 shutout on Thursday. The Cardinals haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Rockcastle County's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10-1. As for Wayne County, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
