Softball Recap: Grand County Red Devils vs. San Juan Broncos
After flying high against Monticello last Wednesday, Grand County came back down to earth. The Red Devils fell just short of the San Juan Broncos by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday. The Red Devils haven't had much luck with the Broncos recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

CHLOE Byrd put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 16 batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Grand County's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for San Juan, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-13.
Looking ahead, Grand County is taking a road trip to take on Rowland Hall at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Red Devils are facing the Winged Lions at the right time seeing as the Winged Lions are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for San Juan, they will be playing at home against North Summit at 2:00 p.m. on the 17th.
