Baseball Recap: Pocahontas County Comes Up Short

Pocahontas County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Gilmer County Titans, falling 10-0.

Pocahontas County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Devon Burgess, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Burgess is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Pocahontas County's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Gilmer County, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pocahontas County will take on Richwood at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Gilmer County, they will face off against Wahama at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
