The San Augustine Wolves are taking a road trip to square off against the Garrison Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. San Augustine is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
On Friday, San Augustine earned a 28-21 win over Joaquin.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead San Augustine to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tymorian Cartwright, who rushed for 41 yards and one TD, and also picked up 52 receiving yards. The dominant performance also gave Cartwright a new career-high in passer rating (164.6). Andrew Nash was another key rusher, rushing for 76 yards and one touchdown.
Meanwhile, Garrison posted their closest victory since September 6, 2024 on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 35-33 win over Shelbyville.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Carter Crawford and Avery Yarbrough. Crawford rushed for 187 yards and three scores on only 12 carries while Yarbrough rushed for 189 yards and a pair of TDs. Yarbrough's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 162 rushing yards.
Garrison was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 370 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 225 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

San Augustine's record now sits at 4-2. As for Garrison, their record is now an identical 4-2.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. San Augustine has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 188.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Garrison struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 342.7 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
San Augustine was dealt a bruising 31-0 loss at the hands of Garrison when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
