Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead San Augustine to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tymorian Cartwright, who rushed for 41 yards and one TD, and also picked up 52 receiving yards. The dominant performance also gave Cartwright a new career-high in passer rating (164.6). Andrew Nash was another key rusher, rushing for 76 yards and one touchdown.

Meanwhile, Garrison posted their closest victory since September 6, 2024 on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 35-33 win over Shelbyville.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Carter Crawford and Avery Yarbrough. Crawford rushed for 187 yards and three scores on only 12 carries while Yarbrough rushed for 189 yards and a pair of TDs. Yarbrough's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 162 rushing yards.

Garrison was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 370 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 225 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
