Volleyball Recap: MacArthur Comes Up Short

MacArthur lost against Highland back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Generals fell 2-0 to the Bulldogs.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-11.

MacArthur's offense was headlined by Zahnya Gibbs and Trinitee Sutton, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Natalya Manns and her eight assists. Gibbs and Sutton didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with three apiece.

Leading Highland to victory were Lucy Becker and Lexy Heath. Becker had three digs and two aces, while Heath had six digs and two aces. Those six digs gave Heath a new career-high. Lauren Bolen also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

MacArthur's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Highland, their win bumped their record up to 11-2.

MacArthur wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Charleston on the 20th. As for Highland, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Teutopolis on the 20th.
