Basketball Recap: Wyatt Bowman's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Victory Christian Academy over Brooklane Baptist

Fans were treated to a Battle of the Eagles on Friday. The Victory Christian Academy Eagles received a blow as they fell 85-69 to the Brooklane Baptist Eagles. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (61), Victory Christian Academy still had to take the loss.

Victory Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Wyatt Bowman, who went 7 of 16 to rack up 18 points and eight boards. That's the most points Bowman has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Chase Myrick, who had 20 points and five rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Victory Christian Academy and nudges their season record down to 13-10. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points over those games. As for Brooklane Baptist, they pushed their record up to 18-6 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.
