Maroa-Forsyth will head out on the road to challenge Auburn at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Maroa-Forsyth has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Auburn will arrive with three straight victories.
Olympia hit Maroa-Forsyth with a four-run second inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Trojans came up short against the Spartans, falling 8-0.

Danni Hovey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and five unearned) runs on ten hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Adelyn Simmons was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Auburn made easy work of Riverton on Tuesday and carried off a 16-1 win. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by seven runs or more this season.
Giada Sinclair and Meena Taylor made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Sinclair struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Meanwhile, Taylor tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those eight strikeouts gave Sinclair a new career-high. At bat, Sinclair went 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI, while Taylor went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
In other batting news, Piper Taylor was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Addison Wheatley was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Auburn kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.
Maroa-Forsyth's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Auburn, their record is now 16-4.
Maroa-Forsyth couldn't quite get it done against Auburn in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 4-0. Can Maroa-Forsyth avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
