Basketball Recap: LaFayette Comes Up Short

On Saturday, the LaFayette Ramblers came up short against the Calhoun Yellow Jackets and fell 64-54. While losing is never fun, the Ramblers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 391st, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 155th).

Jaxon Moore went supernova for Calhoun, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 12 boards. Calhoun is 10-1 when Moore posts ten or more rebounds, but 1-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jace Johns, who posted 13 points and five boards.

LaFayette's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Calhoun, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-3.

LaFayette didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-59 victory against Gilmer on the 28th. As for Calhoun, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 71-48 win against Heritage on the 28th.
