Football Recap: Malcolm Smith Leads Grandview's Defense on Friday + How To Watch

Grandview entered their game against Cherokee Trail on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Wolves fell 14-7 to the Cougars. Having soared to a lofty 40 points in the game before, the Wolves couldn't push the score so high this time.

Even if they lost, Grandview's defense still kept up the pressure with five sacks. In that department, Malcolm Smith was the leader with three. Grandview is 2-1 when Smith posts one or more sacks, but 2-3 otherwise. Another thorn in Cherokee Trail's side was Carter Curtin, who picked up a sack and made ten total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Logan Posey produced another solid effort rushing for 129 yards and one TD for Cherokee Trail.

Grandview's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Cherokee Trail, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-5 record.
