Baseball Game Preview: Springfield Millers vs. Eagle Point Eagles

For the second straight game, Springfield will face off against Eagle Point. The Millers will venture away from home to take on the Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

On Tuesday, Springfield needed a bit of extra time to put away Eagle Point. They had just enough and edged out the Eagles 7-6. The victory was some much needed relief for the Millers as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Timothy James was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Corban Hein was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Eagle Point and nudges their season record down to 4-7. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Springfield, their win bumped their record up to 2-7.
