Football Game Preview: Kennett Blue Demons vs. Oxford Hornets

The Kennett Blue Demons will take on the Oxford Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kennett's defense has only allowed 14.7 points per game this season, so Oxford's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Kennett is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Avon Grove just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 14-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Red Devils.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oxford). They claimed a resounding 44-12 victory over Reading. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Hornets' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 189th, while the Red KNights are ranked 436th).

The win made it two in a row for Oxford and bumps their season record up to 7-2. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 29.0 points over those games. As for Kennett, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-2.

Kennett didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Oxford when the teams last played back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 25-21 win. Will the Blue Demons repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
