Basketball Recap: Jonah Ludwig's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Chapelgate Christian Academy over St. Mary's

Chapelgate Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against the St. Mary's Saints, falling 74-54. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Yellowjackets have suffered against the Saints since December 22, 2021.

Chapelgate Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jonah Ludwig, who posted 12 points. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024. Mason Plater was another key player, going 5-for-10 en route to 10 points.

Even though they lost, Chapelgate Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. This was only their 16th loss (out of 23 games) when they've passed the ball that well.

Chapelgate Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-22. As for St. Mary's, they now have a winning record of 14-13.

Looking ahead, Chapelgate Christian Academy will face off against Sandy Spring Friends at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Mary's does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
