Baseball Recap: Columbia Comes Up Short

Columbia lost against Purvis last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wildcats came up short against the Tornadoes, falling 14-6. The Wildcats' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

MT Breland made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. JP Haddox was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Columbia's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Purvis, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

Columbia will face off against Pearl at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Purvis, they will challenge Lawrence County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
