Baseball Recap: Highland Park Has No Trouble Against Northeast

Highland Park got themselves on the board against Northeast on Thursday, but Northeast never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Vikings. The Scots' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Saul Ramos-Hernadez was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Mason Foxford, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Highland Park always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .690. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Highland Park and bumps their season record up to 2-0-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Northeast, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Highland Park will host Schlagle on Tuesday. The Scots are facing the Stallions at the right time seeing as the Stallions are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Northeast, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Southeast at 4:00 p.m.
