Basketball Recap: Stanton County Takes a Loss

Stanton County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 55-32 to the Sublette Larks. The match marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Stanton County still got an impressive performance from Corey Wilson, who posted seven points and three steals. That's the most steals Wilson has posted since back in January of 2024. Abraham Ortega also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Even though they lost, Stanton County was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. This was only their fifth loss (out of 17 games) when they've passed the ball that well.

Stanton County's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Sublette, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-12 record this season.

While Stanton County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
