After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tuscola, Meridian was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They blew past the Shelbyville Rams 56-33. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 23 points or more this season.

When it comes to explaining why Shelbyville lost, don't look at Kenzie Jones. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 66.7% of Shelbyville's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Alexis Jokisch, who scored four points and five boards.

Meridian's win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Shelbyville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-16.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Tuscola the next time they take the court. Shelbyville will head out to face Tuscola at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, while Meridian will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
