Basketball Recap: Unity Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Unity Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Pungo Christian Academy Raiders 74-41. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-21.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jake Whitehurst, who posted 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Whitehurst, who scored 12 points.

Unity Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Pungo Christian Academy, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Unity Christian Academy will host Fellowship Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pungo Christian Academy, they will face off against Epiphany at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Raiders will be up against the Falcons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 52 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
