Baseball Game Preview: Buffalo Grove Bison vs. Glenbrook South Titans

The Buffalo Grove Bison will head out to challenge the Glenbrook South Titans at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

Buffalo Grove came up short against Libertyville on Friday, falling 11-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Bison in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost four in a row.

Buffalo Grove saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Dudek, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Glenbrook South was not the first on the board on Tuesday, but they got there more often. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Niles West 4-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Titans.

Cam Lewis looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

Buffalo Grove's loss dropped their record down to 2-7-1. As for Glenbrook South, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Buffalo Grove has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Glenbrook South struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Buffalo Grove came out on top in a nail-biter against Glenbrook South when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bison since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
