Softball Recap: West-Oak Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

West-Oak came out on top against Crescent on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fourth inning. The Warriors walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Tigers. This was a revenge game for the Warriors: when they faced off against the Tigers last Tuesday, they had to take a 12-5 defeat.

Anna Blackwell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on eight hits.

At the plate, Brylee Whitfield was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs. Cassie Stoltzfus was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

West-Oak pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8 runs. As for Crescent, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-6.

West-Oak and Crescent should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings. The Warriors (ranked 45th) will meet Walhalla (ranked 155th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Crescent will challenge High Point Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (12 vs. 123).
