Recap: Marion County Red Raiders vs. Hackleburg Panthers
The Marion County Red Raiders and the Hackleburg Panthers squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Marion County Red Raiders had to settle for second. Marion County was beaten by Hackleburg 47-8. Marion County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.
Davin Dulaney had an outrageously good game for Hackleburg as he rushed for 202 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Dulaney really tore up the turf during one magnificent 83-yard run. Hackleburg also got a significant boost from Blaise Vickery, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 98 yards.
Marion County's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-5. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.8 points per game. As for Hackleburg, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Marion County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Hackleburg will be playing at home against Valley Head at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
