ALA - Queen Creek had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Combs Coyotes 3-0. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Coyotes recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant ALA - Queen Creek was: they took every set by at least 13 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-12, 25-9.

Sara Bowcutt paced ALA - Queen Creek's offense, picking up 14 kills. Bowcutt got some help from Brinkley Johnson and her 17 assists. Johnson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Combs is on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

After both having extra time off, ALA - Queen Creek and Salpointe Catholic will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Combs, they will square off against Rio Rico at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
