Soccer Game Preview: Westminster Academy vs. Northpoint Christian

The Westminster Academy Defenders will head out to challenge the Northpoint Christian Trojans at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Westminster Academy has three straight wins, Northpoint Christian has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

If Northpoint Christian heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Westminster Academy took over last week. The Defenders skirted past St. Benedict at Auburndale 2-1. Two seems to be a good number for Westminster Academy as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of goals in their previous game.

Meanwhile, while the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was Evangelical Christian who was credited with the win on Thursday. The Eagles got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to Northpoint Christian's two.

Northpoint Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7-1. As for Westminster Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

Westminster Academy skirted past Northpoint Christian 2-1 in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Do the Defenders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
