Volleyball Recap: Xavier Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Xavier won the last time they faced Menasha and things went their way on Thursday too. The Hawks put the hurt on the Bluejays with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Hawks, who have now won four contests in a row.

While Xavier won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-13, 25-19.

Xavier can attribute much of their success to Bella Velasquez, who had nine digs and three aces. That's the most digs Velasquez has posted over her last eight matchups.

Velasquez wasn't the only good servers: Xavier was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least ten aces in four consecutive matches.

Xavier's win bumped their record up to 27-10. As for Menasha, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-13.

Xavier does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Menasha, after both having extra time off, they and Fond du Lac will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
