After flying high against the Lake Buena Vista Vipers back in December of 2023, the Altamonte Christian Eagles came back down to earth. Altamonte Christian opened the new year with a less-than-successful 64-60 loss to they on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Altamonte Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryan Almeda , who scored 13 points. The match was Almeda 's third in a row with at least ten points. Marcus Goss Jr. was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.

Altamonte Christian's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 6-6. As for Flagler Palm Coast, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.

Altamonte Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Pine Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pine Ridge has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. Flagler Palm Coast won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Nease at 7:30 p.m. on January 3rd.
