Baseball Recap: Clinton County Comes Up Short

Clinton County blew Metcalfe County out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Metcalfe County got their revenge. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bulldogs have suffered since March 20th.

Chandler Rogers was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That run marked the first that he has scored this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Duvall, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Clinton County has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season. As for Metcalfe County, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-10 record.

While Clinton County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
