High school football: Iowa junior sparks blowout win with four return touchdowns – in the first quarter

Rayce Heitman made things easy for Williamsburg on Friday night, reaching the end zone four times before the offense took the field.

Rayce Heitman helped Williamsburg race to a 27-0 lead in an Iowa high school football game Friday night against South Tama County (Tama) with two punt returns for touchdowns as well as a pair of pick-sixes – all in the first quarter.

See all four of Heitman's first-quarter touchdowns in the video. Williamsburg went on to win the game 61-6, improving to 5-0 on the season.

The 6-foot-2, 170-pound junior linebacker started things with a 53-yard punt return for a score. Then came back-to-back interception returns to the house from 20 and 25 yards out, respectively. Finally, Heitman completed the grand slam with another punt return TD, this time covering 43 yards.

Heitman went untouched on all four returns.

According to statistics submitted to GoBound.com, Heitman added a touchdown reception later in the contest and recorded three tackles.



Heitman has three special teams touchdowns on the season with a kickoff return as well. He leads Williamsburg with 38 tackles this fall to go along with 5.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and a fumble recovery. Offensively, he has seven catches for 126 yards and two more touchdowns.
