Basketball Game Preview: Grundy County Yellowjackets vs. Stewarts Creek Red Hawks

The Grundy County Yellowjackets will take on the Stewarts Creek Red Hawks in a holiday battle at at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Meanwhile, Stewarts Creek hadn't done well against Oakland recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Stewarts Creek enjoyed a cozy 76-58 win over Oakland. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Red Hawks.

Stewarts Creek is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points per game. As for Grundy County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Grundy County and Stewarts Creek were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in December of 2019, but Grundy County came up empty-handed after a 48-47 loss. Can Grundy County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
