Baseball Game Preview: Flagstaff Eagles vs. Mingus Marauders

For the second straight game, Flagstaff will face off against Mingus. Flagstaff will face off against Mingus at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Flagstaff has four straight victories, Mingus has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Monday, Flagstaff earned a 5-1 win over Mingus.

Connor Iniguez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up ten Ks. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Will Carpenter was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Payne Lowry, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Carpenter wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Flagstaff kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive matchups.

Flagstaff's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Mingus, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12-1.
