Basketball Recap: Cherokee Comes Up Short

Cherokee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 45-39 heartbreaker at the hands of the Waterloo Cougars. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 50-36 back in December of 2024.

Cherokee's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Waterloo, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 18-3.

Cherokee wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 36-26 defeat against Colbert Heights on the 16th. Waterloo has also already played their next matchup (against Athens Bible), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
