Volleyball Recap: Brandon Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Brandon and Ocean Springs squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Brandon had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greyhounds. The Bulldogs' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Brandon came incredibly close to winning: the sets they lost were decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-22, 21-25, 26-24.

Aubrey Dale paced Brandon's offense, picking up 18 kills. Dale got some help from Mia Williams and her 43 assists. Dale was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Ocean Springs found their leader in sophomore Baylor Edmiston, who had nine digs and two aces. Edmiston is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Brandon's defeat dropped their record down to 30-9. As for Ocean Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won 23 of their last 24 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 39-5 record this season.

Brandon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ocean Springs, they have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Madison Central on the 16th.
