Basketball Recap: Northern Garrett Comes Up Short

Northern Garrett lost against Southern back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Northern Garrett Huskies came up short against the Southern Rams, falling 78-54. The Huskies were down 61-41 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Southern had a senior duo take command as Brayden Upole went 9 of 17 to rack up 22 points in addition to six assists and three steals and Jared Haskiell went 7 for 14 en route to 19 points. Haskiell has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more points the last 14 times he's played. Jacob Brown was another key player, putting up 11 points and five assists.

Northern Garrett's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Southern, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.

Northern Garrett has already played their next match, an 82-40 defeat against Fort Hill on the 8th. As for Southern, they will be playing at home against Keyser at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
