Baseball Game Preview: Rock Port Blue Jays vs. North Platte Panthers

The Rock Port Blue Jays will face off against the North Platte Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither Rock Port nor North Platte posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Rock Port is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Auburn just ended the team's 15-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 4-0 to the Bulldogs. The game marked the first time this season in which the Blue Jays were not able to get on the board.

Rock Port saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Lair, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases. Lair has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Meanwhile, North Platte didn't have quite enough to beat Mid-Buchanan on Thursday and fell 2-1.

North Platte's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Rock Port, their loss dropped their record down to 18-3.

Rock Port came out on top in a nail-biter against North Platte in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, sneaking past 5-4. Do the Blue Jays have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
