Football Recap: Morgan Academy Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Morgan Academy dropped to 4-3 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They took a 38-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Patrician Academy Saints. If the Senators were looking for revenge after losing 37-22 to the Saints when the teams met back in August of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Patrician Academy, their win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 36.7 points this season.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Remington Faile and Ethan Carr. Faile rushed for 149 yards and three TDs while picking up 8.8 yards per carry while Carr gained 203 total yards and a touchdown. Carr was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 56 yards. Another player making a difference was Bryson Reid, who threw for 112 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Morgan Academy will square off against Lowndes Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rebels' defense has only allowed 10.7 points per game this season, so the Senators' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Patrician Academy, they will face off against Sparta Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
