Basketball Game Preview: Gulfport Admirals vs. St. Martin Yellow Jackets

Gulfport is 1-9 against St. Martin since November of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Gulfport Admirals will venture away from home to challenge the St. Martin Yellow Jackets at 6:00 p.m.

Gulfport is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Saturday. They lost to Davidson on the road by a 57-40 margin.

Meanwhile, St. Martin put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Blount by a score of 43-36. Given the Yellow Jackets' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 12th in Mississippi, while the Leopards are ranked 103rd in Alabama), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

St. Martin's victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points per game. As for Gulfport, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Gulfport took a serious blow against St. Martin in their previous matchup back in January, falling 69-34. Can Gulfport avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
