League recap: Gwynn Park tops Surrattsville to extend winning streak

Gwynn Park extended the longest winning streak in Prince George's County 3A/2A/1A this week by beating Surrattsville, 36-0. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.

Largo led the league in scoring this week after putting up 38 points on Crossland.

The Hornets' dynamic duo of Robert Harris, III and Mareico Greene proved tough for Gwynn Park to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Harris, III threw for 47 yards and Greene had 45 yards receiving. Tommie Broadwater, IV helped Surrattsville's passing attack out by catching one ball for three yards.

Dajahn Lowery was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 13 carries, he ran for 89 yards as Friendly lost to Danny Hayes' team. Thomas Corbett also contributed to the rushing game with 37 yards on the ground.

On the ground, Forestville Military Academy's Marcel Joly has rushed for 693 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Jourdan Ginyard. The Forestville Military Academy star has 29 catches for 545 yards.
