Basketball Recap: Allen Falls Despite Big Games from Kryslyn Stephens and Kaylee Davis

Allen's tournament run continued when they took on Alva on Saturday. The Allen Mustangs lost to the Alva Goldbugs on the road by a 49-34 margin. The match marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Allen's loss came despite strong showings from Kaylee Davis and Kryslyn Stephens. Davis went 6 of 14 on her way to 15 points and six rebounds, while Stephens posted seven points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Davis a new career-high in blocks (two).

Among those leading the charge was Asia Blackledge, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 14 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kylie Adair, who had two points in addition to eight boards, six assists, and three steals.

Allen's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Alva, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.
