Softball Recap: Santa Rita Comes Up Short

After flying high against Baboquivari on March 6th, Santa Rita came back down to earth. Santa Rita came up short against the St. Augustine Catholic Wolves on Monday, falling 34-15. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-7 on March 3rd.

Santa Rita's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for St. Augustine Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Coming up, Santa Rita will be playing in front of their home fans against Fort Thomas at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fort Thomas has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.8 runs per game on average), something Santa Rita will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for St. Augustine Catholic, they will face off against Benson at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Augustine Catholic's pitchers better be ready for this one: Benson has averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
