Softball Recap: Hidden Valley Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Henley, Hidden Valley was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They never let the Phoenix Pirates get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Pirates back in April, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

The result came thanks to Scarlett Gordon's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Sam Lesher, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Hidden Valley's victory bumped their record up to 19-4. As for Phoenix, they dropped their record down to 14-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Hidden Valley will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Pirates: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
