Volleyball Recap: Harker Eagles vs. Notre Dame Tigers
If Harker was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Crystal Springs Uplands last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles fell just short of the Notre Dame Tigers by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.
Harker took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 25-12, 23-25, 25-22, 15-12.
Elie Ahluwalia paced Harker's offense, picking up 24 kills. Ahluwalia got some help from Keira Chang and her 36 assists. Ahluwalia was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.
Leading Notre Dame to victory were Piper Ventura and Adrianna Chu. Ventura had 15 digs and four assists, while Chu had four digs and four aces. Those four assists gave Ventura a new career-high.
Harker's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Notre Dame, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 11-4.
Harker wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Notre Dame on the 18th. As for the Tigers, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Sacred Heart Prep on the 18th.
