Basketball Recap: Castle Park Trojans vs. Hilltop Lancers
Even though the Castle Park Trojans have not done well against the Hilltop Lancers recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Castle Park was the clear victor by a 57-33 margin over the Lancers. That's two games straight that Castle Park has won by exactly 24 points.
When it comes to explaining why Hilltop lost, one person who can't be blamed is Diego Martinez. Despite the final result, he scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Martinez has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Meza, who scored two points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Castle Park's win bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Hilltop, they dropped their record down to 1-20 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Castle Park is on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Lions at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th. As for Hilltop, they will take on the Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Southwest SD has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 529 points over their last seven matches.
