Basketball Recap: Golden West Takes a Loss

Golden West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 61-56 heartbreaker at the hands of the Monache Marauders. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Marauders this season, with their most recent loss being a 69-54 defeat back in January.

Monache was led to victory by Gabriel Carbajal and Ty Baxter. Carbajal went 7 for 14 en route to 20 points and seven rebounds, while Baxter posted 24 points. Carbajal has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Dillon Hall was another key player, putting up five points and seven boards.

Golden West's loss dropped their record down to 13-15. As for Monache, they pushed their record up to 16-11 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Golden West has already played their next contest, a 48-38 defeat against El Diamante on the 6th. As for Monache, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 70-60 win against Porterville on the 7th.
