 Jefferson had to endure  a  six-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  2-1  win over the Spencerville Bearcats  on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for Jefferson, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
  Lucas Millmine spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered one  run (which was  unearned)  on two hits.
 At the plate, Jefferson's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Vinny Murray, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3.
 Jefferson  made their fans wait, but they earned their first win of the season to make their record 1-4. As for Spencerville, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with that  defeat, which was their fifth straight  at home dating back to last season.
 Jefferson will head out on the road to  square off against  Perry at 5:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Perry's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5  runs per game  this season, so Jefferson's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Spencerville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Crestview at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
