Football Recap: Hayfork Finds Playoff Glory Versus Tulelake + How To Watch

It's playoff time, and Hayfork had no trouble coming through when it counted. They breezed past the Tulelake Honkers to the tune of 68-0 on Friday. Give the Timberjacks' defense some credit: that's the team's fifth straight shutout.

It was another big night for Levi Cavalli, who rushed for 178 yards and five TDs on only eight carries, and also threw for 35 yards and one touchdown. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run. Another player making a difference was Tatem Wiley, who gained 146 total yards and a touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hayfork was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 340 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 199 rushing yards in 20 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Hayfork didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Cavalli and Mukeng Yang. Cavalli's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 22nd straight game with at least 100 rushing yards dating back to last season. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Hayfork's win bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Tulelake, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Coming up, Hayfork will face off against Loyalton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Grizzlies will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Timberjacks surely won't give up without a fight. Tulelake does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
