Softball Game Preview: Lynn Classical Rams vs. Swampscott Big Blue

The Lynn Classical Rams will challenge the Swampscott Big Blue at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Lynn Classical took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 17-3 margin over Malden.

Aliany Ramirez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ramirez was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emma Chevalier, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Mia Duncan, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Swampscott got themselves on the board against Winthrop on Friday, but Winthrop never followed suit. They blew past the Vikings 8-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Lynn Classical's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Swampscott, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Lynn Classical took their victory against Swampscott when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-3 score. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Big Blue turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
