Volleyball Recap: Delta Eagles vs. New Castle Trojans
Delta and New Castle squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Delta had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Trojans earlier this season, when they won 3-1.
Kyra Murry paced Delta's offense, picking up 13 kills. Murry got some help from Kate Manor and her 20 assists. Manor also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Sienna Richards, each putting up two.
Emily Luce went supernova For New Castle., getting 18 digs and two aces. Luce is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last six games she's played.
Delta's defeat dropped their record down to 12-12. As for New Castle, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-11 record this season.
