CHESS Christian came tearing into Thursday's contest with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Hillsboro Christian Academy Crusaders with a sharp 3-0 victory.

While CHESS Christian won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-17, 25-17.

CHESS Christian pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Hillsboro Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

Looking ahead, Hillsboro Christian Academy will head out on the road to challenge Grove City at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. CHESS Christian will be paying especially close attention to the Crusaders' match: after the Crusaders face off against the Greyhounds, they'll take on CHESS Christian again at 5:00 p.m. on May 6.
