Calvary Baptist strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They took their game with ease, bagging a 54-6 win over the United Christian Academy Eagles. With the Cougars ahead 48-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Calvary Baptist's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Devin DeBuono, who threw for 239 yards and five touchdowns on only 18 passes, and also punched in one rushing score. DeBuono also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack, forcing one fumble, and making seven total tackles in addition to snagging an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown. Dominic Neal helped DeBuono out on the ground, picking up 55 receiving yards and one TD, while also rushing for 37 yards and one score.

Calvary Baptist's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for United Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Calvary Baptist will venture away from home to square off against Cornerstone Christian at 5:00 p.m. on the 10th. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Cougars 5.2, the Crusaders 11.2) so any points scored will be well earned. As for United Christian Academy, they will welcome West Shores at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
